The International Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research (ITF) will change its name into International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). This was decided during the ITF meeting on December 10-13 in Liège (Belgium).

Program ‘History of Anti-Semitism and of the Shoah’ 2013-2014

A private French foundation for the benefit of the public, the Foundation of the Memory of the Shoah pursues its program for assisting research in all fields concerning the Shoah, its origins and consequences, up to the present day, as well as studies on past and contemporary anti-Semitism.

On 4 December 2012, an EHRI workshop on Greek Holocaust-related archives took place in Athens. Presided by Dr. Veerle Vanden Daelen (Ceges-Soma, 'Identification & Investigation' Work Package leader in EHRI) and co-organized by Dr. Agiatis Benardou (Athena RC/IMIS, EHRI user requirements), an EHRI delegation met with a representative sample of the Greek Holocaust research community, including members of major universities, museums and archival institutions.

International Academic Conference on Holocaust Research

University of Toronto; October 6-7, 2013

Organized by the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Chair of Holocaust Studies and the Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto, and the Government of Canada, this international academic conference will showcase and consider new Holocaust-related research by new scholars in the field.

The Jewish Book Council, an American organisation, gave the National Jewish Book Award 2012 to Laura Jockusch for her book Collect and Record! Jewish Holocaust Documentation in Early Postwar Europe, published by Oxford University Press in August 2012.

EHRI partner the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies (VWI) invites applications for its fellowships for the academic year 2013/2014, beginning October 1, 2013.

Between 17 and 21 December 2012 EHRI partner the International Tracing Service hosted a workshop convened within the framework of the Work Package for Standards and Guidelines of the EHRI project.

The EHRI workshop, which aimed to reconstruct the activities of the Jewish post-war documentation projects and to place them into a comparative context, was a vivid illustration that the history of archival collections can be anything but boring.

HL-senteret is probably the youngest institution among the EHRI affiliates. The creation of the center was a result of a year-long process involving the restitution of property and assets confiscated from the Norwegian Jews during the Second World War.
